OPEN 6:30 HALLOWEEN NIGHT ONLY! An annual yard haunt - nay, a HAUNT EXPERIENCE in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte, NC - always FREE, but donations for the Greater Charlotte SPCA are encouraged.

Two Elizabeth residents spend the better part of September and October building the one-night-only event. Each year they add new attractions – last year, a 28-foot whirling vortex tunnel led the way into the whole adventure. This year, they have collected a massive stack of branches, and have framed out the porch with 2x4s – the purpose, they say, is a secret until Halloween night. Also, their haunt features animatronics, live performers (fire-eaters!), a realistic thunder-and-lightning show, and (debuting this year) a psychedelic room requiring 3D glasses.

In its seventh year, Rosemont Manor (at the 2100 block of East 5th Street between Osborne and Ridgeway) annually draws over 1000 visitors. Rosemont Manor is appropriate for all ages - although parents with very young children may choose not to enter some of the attractions.
